Religious skepticism is a type of uncertainty relating to religion. Religious skeptics question religious authority and are not necessarily anti-religious but are those skeptical of a specific or all religious beliefs and practices.
Some are deists, believing in a non-interventionist god(s) and rejecting mainstream religions. Socrates was one of the first religious skeptics of whom there are records; he questioned the legitimacy of the beliefs of his time in the existence of the Greek gods.
What I have learned from the Bible and what I have experience in my life, there is no doubt that God created the world and everything in it.
Then I take a quick look at how God organized the years, months, weeks, and days to all fit into a predictable calendar. Science even backs up what the Bible has claimed to be right over all of these centuries.
Being a logical person, you, too, will be able to understand the truth of the Bible if you give the Bible a chance to prove itself to you, so you also can believe by faith that God created the entire universe, including you and me.
Reasons For Believing In God vs. A Religious Skeptic
Everyone – pantheist, atheist, skeptic, polytheist – has to answer these questions: ‘Where did I come from? What is life’s meaning? How do I define right from wrong, and what happens to me when I die?’ Those are the fulcrum points of our existence. ~ Ravi Zacharias
Are Your Beliefs Christian Beliefs?
Is It Just Easier To Be A Skeptic?
I think the answer to this question is yes for those whose hearts have been hardened for some reason or another, or perhaps seeing the hypocrisy that they may have experienced in their life growing up in a so-called “Religious Home.” Ideas like this I can see could make a person a skeptic!
The reason I can be so sure of the claim that God is real and that He loves you and me is by just looking around and see all that there is in this world. You can start by looking at all the different types of people, not to mention all the many different kinds of animals and insects there are in this world.
Someone or something had to have created all of this? I have faith that God is responsible for all of this, not only that it is in the Bible, but I have experienced both God’s grace, love, forgiveness, not to mention God’s discipline and His displeasure for my sin, yet He has not forsaken me for it. I know God loves me, which makes it that much easier for me to love Him.
