We all have been comforted at some point in our life, and it’s truly a wonderful feeling. It reminds me of what is beautifully stated in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” This passage highlights how important it is for us to not only receive comfort but also extend it to others. If we limit ourselves to only pursuing our daily interests without reaching out to help others, we will never reach our full potential in life. It’s crucial that we love and honor God by actively assisting those around us as guided by Him.
In Proverbs 11:25, I find great wisdom – “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” When we selflessly offer support and assistance with genuine intentions, something incredible happens – not only do we provide relief or aid to someone else but also experience an uplifting refreshment within ourselves. The reciprocation between being a helper and receiving blessings from above is truly awe-inspiring. Therefore, I encourage you wholeheartedly – first and foremost, focus on helping your family as they are closest to you. Additionally, look for opportunities to assist others within your church community or neighborhood. And if you’re unsure where exactly you could contribute using your unique gifts and talents. Take a few moments and think about where you could use the gifts and talents that God has given you. If you can not think of someplace, use the internet and Google volunteer positions. Getting out of yourself and pouring yourself into good causes is a very wise thing to do. No matter where you decide to help, please do yourself a favor and help somewhere in any way you can; you will not regret it. You will be blessed! ~ Bill Greguska
