Are You a Skeptic For Some Reason?

I like to ask a question, are you a religious skeptic? What I mean by that is that regarding persons religious upbringing can be entirely different from one person to another. It is possible that you have had bias teaching from non-believers while growing up, or a bad experience with your parents forcing you to go to church, and you did not want any part of religion. Of course, some of these types of things could put a wedge between you and God.

Another reason for possibly being a religious skeptic is what you read about and watch on TV all the bad news with Catholic priests, TV evangelical pastors, and so on, that has brought a bad name and a false representation of the church in general. I must say that no matter what your reasoning is, the truth is that God is real, and He loves you and me. If you do not understand that yet, I hope you can while you are here on this website. ~ Bill Greguska

Reasons For Believing in God vs. Being a Religious Skeptic

Everyone – pantheist, atheist, skeptic, polytheist – has to answer these questions: ‘Where did I come from? What is life’s meaning? How do I define right from wrong and what happens to me when I die?’ Those are the fulcrum points of our existence. ~ Ravi Zacharias

Matthew 14:31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Is it Just Easier to Be a Skeptic?

I think the answer to this question is yes for those who’s hearts have been hardened for some reason or another, or perhaps seeing the hypocrisy that they may have experienced in their life growing up in a so-called “Religious Home.” Reasons like this I can see could make a person a skeptic!

The reason I can be so sure of the claim that God is real and that He loves you and I is by simply looking around and see all that there is in this world. You can start by looking at all the different types of people not to mention all the many different kinds of animals and insects there are in this world. Someone or something had to have created all of this? I have faith that God is responsible for all of this, not only that it is in the Bible, but I have experienced both God’s grace, love, forgiveness, not to mention God’s discipline and His displeasure for my sin, yet He has not forsaken me for it. I know God loves me, which makes it that much easier for me to love Him.

Religious skepticism is a type of skepticism relating to religion. Religious skeptics question religious authority and are not necessarily anti-religious but are those skeptical of a specific or all religious beliefs and/or practices. Some are deists, believing in a non-interventionist god(s) and rejecting mainstream religions. Socrates was one of the first religious skeptics of whom there are records; he questioned the legitimacy of the beliefs of his time in the existence of the Greek gods.

What I have learned from the Bible and what I have experience in my life, there is no doubt that God created the world and everything in it.

Then I take a quick look at how God organized the years, months, weeks and days to all fit into a predictable calendar. Science even backs up what the Bible has claimed to be truth over all of these centuries.

Being a logical person, you too will be able to understand the truth of the Bible if you give the Bible a chance to prove itself to you, so you too can believe by faith that God created the entire universe including you and me.

Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. ~ George Washington
