The Power Of Listening To God!
This page explains that prayer is simple, sincere communication with an all-knowing God who comforts, guides, and strengthens us, offering biblical encouragement, practical questions, classic prayers, and resources to help believers grow closer to Him and pray according to His will.
Prayer serves to convey our needs and help us discern what God wants us to know. Just as we sought peace and love in our parents’ comforting embrace during childhood distress or fear, prayer serves a similar purpose, providing love and comfort from our Heavenly Father. When we turn to God in prayer, He graciously settles us amid chaos and guides us to wisdom and answers that far surpass what any parental figure could provide. When we pray to Him, He settles us and helps us find the wisdom and answers we need in ways that are far more significant than any parent could. Prayer Information ~ Why Is Prayer So Important?
Matthew 6:9-13 “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
The Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
I trust that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.
