Has Homosexuality Has Gotten Too Much Attention?

The message many homosexual gays and lesbians hear is that God hates them. See why this is not true. Homosexuality has gotten much attention in the news. There is a good chance that you know someone who is gay or lesbian at work, school, or in the community.

The question is not whether homosexuality is right or wrong. But the real question is what God says about homosexuality, and if it honors Him or not? Yes, the Bible tells us that homosexuality is a sin, yet so many people forget that fact no different than stealing, lying, rage, witchcraft, etc. All sin is an offense against a Holy God and causes separation between God and us.  Jesus Christ died for all of our sins, not just some of them. Do not hear me wrong, I am not saying that homosexual people can not be good people because I believe that probably a very large percentage of them are decent people, what I am saying is that the Bible instructs us to flee from all sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Let us stop pointing our finger at others because when we do that, 3 fingers are pointing right back at you. We are called by God to love one another, and if we are aware that homosexuality is a sin, if we really love one another, we would share that with them in a gentle, caring and loving way.  ~ Bill Greguska

The Act of Homosexuality is Not The Main Issue!

I think that the Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin, but the Bible also teaches that pride is a sin, jealousy is a sin, and hate is a sin, evil thoughts are a sin. So I don’t think that homosexuality should be chosen as the overwhelming sin that we are doing today. ~ Billy Graham

1 Corinthians 6:12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

God Has Given us The Bible as The Reference Point

To be wise, we must follow God’s will. Otherwise, there are often consequences for doing things our way. God isn’t punishing us. All He is doing is protecting us from ourselves. When we do things our way, things just don’t function as well as doing things His way. If people waited to have sex until they were in a committed, loving marriage, there would be far fewer sexually transmitted diseases, abortions, unwanted pregnancies, and children growing up without two parents in their lives. Today, sex has gotten out of control.

In the Hebrew-Christian Bible, there are multiple times in both the Old and New Testament where homosexuality and other immoral activities are explicitly condemned as dishonorable to God and the natural order (the way things were designed to work) and as destructive to those involved with them.

An entire chapter in the Old Testament lists certain activities and calls them “detestable,” stating in no uncertain terms, “Stay away!” The New Testament uses five terms to describe both male and female homosexual conduct: “unnatural,” and “indecent.” Scripture throughout forbids us to be sexually involved in seven areas: with parents, with children, with brothers and sisters, with another spouse, with animals, with dead people, and of the same sex. These never change.

Let me explain something when I’m talking about sin, and I’m talking about all sin. One of the biggest ones that have been talked about that has really become a debate in America is homosexuality. ~ Reggie White

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
