Having a Bible reading plan is incredibly wise. It recognizes that we are creatures of habit, and by establishing a good routine of reading the Bible, you are setting yourself up for success. Without a plan in place, there is always the risk of failure no matter how well-intentioned you may be. So it’s important to start by selecting a chapter that you feel comfortable with and gradually progress from there.

While incorporating devotional or Christian books can be beneficial, it’s crucial to prioritize reading directly from the Bible itself. Understanding our abilities, I advocate starting slow and slowly building on your daily Bible reading plan. By doing so, my hunger for God’s word grew steadily until I found myself naturally spending more time in quiet communion with Him each morning. Remember not to overwhelm yourself by attempting to read large portions all at once; instead, focus on digesting smaller amounts and genuinely grasping the profound wisdom contained within its pages. ~ Bill Greguska

Start reading the Bible today — there is no better time, and there’s no reason to wait.

Set aside a specific time each day. Set your schedule, and then stick to it. Mornings are great, but feel free to use any time that works consistently for you.

Read the Bible for the sake of learning, not simply to accomplish your next reading. Say a short prayer to God before you begin, asking the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding, and then be refreshed by the words you read!
