How Can You Find General Encouragement?

General encouragement for you and me! NeedEncouragement.com

General encouragement comes when you know where to look for assistance!

Where do you turn first when you need general encouragement in your life? Do you go to a friend to talk to? Do you think you pray first? What do you do? I suggest stopping and sitting quietly and asking God in prayer for your needs. You can do this sitting right in front of your computer. We each seek general encouragement in different places, but it is best to go to God for help by praying, reading His Word, and spending time with other believers.

He will speak to you once you pray and ask for God’s help. After doing this, I suggest sharing your concerns with a Christian friend, pastor, or someone who cares enough to help point you to Jesus Christ. Without help from someone, it can be tough to practice living out your faith because of the many temptations in this world. Do not give up on your Christian faith; instead, hold on to what God’s word says with all the general encouragement in the Bible.

Yes, Some Christian Advice Can Seem Harsh,

But the bottom line is that if it saves you from hell and a life of sin and heartache here on earth, saves you from hell and a life of sin and suffering here on earth, I would think you would agree that being open to it would be wise! I am a sinner and would be inclined to hear someone speak to me in love rather than condemnation and judgment over me. When Pastor Ron and Sue Sauer counseled me, I was very open to the Christian advice that they shared with me. Remember to ask yourself, “Do you pray first?” ~ Bill Greguska

What Does Hope Have To Do With Encouragement?

Consider this: Your thoughts are like a train engine, and the caboose is like your feelings. The problem arises when we allow our emotions to run the train rather than sound knowledge and wisdom. You need to have hope that your situation will improve and have faith that God is the answer to all your difficulties. Then, you will be on the right track. It is not necessarily about finding happiness in your life but about finding God and following Him daily.
Psalm 46:1  God Is Our Refuge And Strength, An Ever-Present Help In Times Of Trouble.

A 90-Year-Old Columnist Wrote This!

A local newspaper in Cleveland, Ohio.

“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written”. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the popular column once more:

2. When in doubt, take the next small step.

3. Life is too short – enjoy it with God’s help.

4. Your job won’t care for you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.

6. You don’t have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

8. Getting angry with God is OK. He can take it!

9. Save for retirement, starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so that it won’t screw up the present.

12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it!
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don’t worry; God never blinks.

More From The 90-Year-Old Columnist

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

18. Whatever doesn’t kill you does make you stronger.

19. It’s never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.

20. Don’t take no for an answer When it comes to going after what you love in life.

21. Burn the candles, use the beautiful sheets, and wear fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion.
Today is special!

22. Over-prepare, then go with the flow with God’s help.

23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words, ‘In five years, will this matter?’

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive

29. What other people think of you is none of your business!

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time some time.

Final Thoughts!

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change with God’s help.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.

35. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative of dying young.

38. All that truly matters, in the end, is that you love.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere!

40. We’d grab our problems back if we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s.

41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have, not what you need.

42. The best is yet to come with God’s help.

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, and show up with God’s help.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn’t tied with a bow but is still a gift.
