It is truly fascinating how often we believe we can deceive others by putting on a façade or acting in a particular way, thinking it will impress them. We sometimes smile and laugh, but in actuality, our hearts are hard and cold. We need to have a soft, warm heart. However, we fail to realize that when it comes to impressing Jesus, material possessions and outward appearance hold no value, because God looks at our hearts! As Helen Keller wisely once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched; they must be felt with the heart.” Let us strive to invest more of our concern into nurturing the love that lies within our hearts rather than obsessing over superficial things.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Do You Think God Looks At Your Heart, Or Exterior?

Where Should Our Focus Be…

Instead of accumulating wealth on earth purely for the sake of impressing those whom we may even dislike, let us focus on storing our riches in heaven, where true worth resides. By remaining faithful in our hearts to God and allowing God to guide us along life’s path, we acknowledge His omniscience—the fact that He knows exactly what thoughts run through our minds—leaving no room for deception or trickery before Him. ~ Bill Greguska

Do You Realize God Looks At Our Hearts?God looks at your heart! NeedEncouragment.com

God does not care what we wear or how we look; He cares about the condition of our hearts. When you get all bent out of shape because you are worried about what others think and say about you, you need to stop and rethink things, because men and women may look at your appearance, but what counts when all is said and done is the fact that God looks at your heart.

That is the only thing that ought to matter in your life.

We should never judge by appearances. Our eyes are limited to what we can see. Do not worry about other people’s opinions because a real friend will accept you for who you are, not what you look like or how you handle every situation.

Stop worrying about what other people think, and become more concerned about what God thinks about you! Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. ~ Bill Greguska
