This page teaches Christians why and how to pray for others and deepen their own prayer life. We emphasize that Prayer is a continual, two-way conversation with God, a privilege made richer through faith in Jesus. Our articles answer common questions (intercessory Prayer, praying for unbelievers, God’s will, public Prayer), and encourage intentional, frequent Prayer anywhere, anytime. We suggest organizing Prayer with praise, repentance, intercession, and personal requests (P-R-A-Y), highlighting praying for many groups (family, government, church, pastors, children, nations, Jerusalem, missionaries, etc.), and anchoring everything in Scripture. We stress praying simply and sincerely, trusting God’s timing, and using Prayer to grow closer to Him and receive guidance, wisdom, and encouragement.

2 Chronicles 6:40 “Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

When And How Can You Talk With God?

We cannot spend all our time on our knees praying, but we can maintain a sincere, prayerful attitude throughout our day. God is always with you so that you can talk to Him 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You do not have to be in a church to talk with God, nor do you have to sound religious to speak to God. You do not have to do anything but tell God what you are going through and ask Him to direct your steps.

Is There A Set Formula For Praying?

God wants us to share our concerns, fears, and desires. We need to talk to God as though we were speaking with a close friend, because that is what He wants to be to you and me.
The Bible mentions Prayer frequently, including Jesus’ words on Prayer, which we refer to as “The Lord’s Prayer” in Matthew 6:9-13. There is a parable Jesus shared with his disciples that speaks directly to Prayer.

Do You Pray In Hopes To Change God’s Mind?

How To Organize Your Prayer Time?

  1. The first part of the Prayer should be praise for our Heavenly Father.
  2. It is followed by intercession for others’ needs.
  3. Then, in the prayers of petition, ask for what you need.
  4. All prayers should close with praise and thanksgiving to our Father, who answers our prayers out of His love for us. Conclude Prayer with some praise, like Jesus ended The Lord’s Prayer, saying, for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen” Matthew 6:9-13

How To Pray By Using The Letters P-R-A-Y=

  1. Praise God for His blessings.
  2. Repent of any sin in your life.
  3. Ask God to help others in need.
  4. You and your needs.
I pray every night, sometimes long prayers, about many things and people, but I don’t talk about it or brag about it because that’s between God and me, and I’m no better than anybody else in God’s sight. ~ Peyton Manning
Matthew 6:9-13  “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,  your kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

When You Pray To God, You Are Pleasing God!

A prayer of hope!

When you pray to God, pray confidently since God will answer all of our prayers in His time, not ours.

Having a relationship with God is impossible unless you spend time with Him. One of the best ways to do that is through Prayer. There is no one right way to pray to God. However, the following are some practical ideas.

  • Sometimes, people fall into praying when they want or need something from God. The shortest Prayer I know is, “Help me, God!” But the Bible says we should “pray without ceasing.” Keep God in your thoughts and prayers, and make requests for yourself and others.

  • Find a place to pray that you will not be disturbed. Jesus said, “But when you pray, go into your room, shut the door, and pray to your Father, who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

  • Keep it straightforward and honest; don’t focus on eloquent words or long prayers. Jesus also said, “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases,” thinking that God will hear you better if you talk more, “for your Father knows what you need before you ask him” (Matthew 6:7-8).

  • Say the Lord’s Prayer, but say it slowly. The words are found in Matthew, chapter 6. If you can recite it by heart without thinking, take the time to look at the words from a fresh perspective to see how Jesus is telling you to pray.
