Forgiveness and Reconciliation: How to initiate forgiveness?
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or need some encouragement.
Reconciliation is a very powerful and beautiful thing. It allows us to come together with others, admit our faults, and work towards healing broken relationships. Although it may not always be possible to restore a relationship in the way we desire fully, forgiveness, which is different, is still commanded by God!
God calls us to love one another. The question is how to achieve reconciliation. There is a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. It is clear what is written in Matthew 6:15 But. If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Reconciliation goes one step beyond forgiveness. God commands us to forgive, but not to be reconciled in every situation.
Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Does Forgiveness Always Mean Reconciliation?
Forgiveness vs Reconciliation!
-
1) Forgiveness in the bible is a “release” or a “dismissal” of some harm. god commands us to forgive one another.
-
2) Reconciliation is the restoration of a relationship to a harmonious state after a dispute. God considers reconciliation an option due to the offense’s sensitive nature. But forgiveness is still commanded by God!
The Journey of Forgiveness and Reconciliation!
God commands and teaches us to forgive others as He has forgiven us, a practice that requires humility and grace. Sometimes it takes time for wounds to heal or for hearts to soften, but reconciliation can bring about incredible restoration of relationships. We must remember that forgiveness is not an option, even when things cannot be put back together. As difficult as it may be, let us strive towards reconciling with one another whenever possible to experience the beauty of restored relationships in our lives.
With all the difficulties we get involved in with others, keep in mind that Jesus is our best defense attorney, so file your grievance with the Lord, and if the Lord is prompting you to reconcile with someone, then do so; if not for some reason, then be sure to forgive the other person at least since you have been forgiven! ~ Bill Greguska

The Original Copy of the Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)
God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, Enjoying one moment at a time, Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, Taking, as Jesus did, This sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it, Trusting that You will make all things right, If I surrender to Your will, So that I may be reasonably happy in this life, And supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.

But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
