On this page, “Good Healthy Relationships,” explains healthy relationships from a Christian perspective. We emphasize that strong relationships require two emotionally whole people, mutual respect, honesty, clear boundaries, forgiveness, communication, humility, and a willingness to put others’ needs above selfish ambition, using Philippians 2:3 as a key verse. We also point you to related topics like boundaries, toxic relationships, friendship, dating, forgiveness, communication, and Christian counseling. We encourage you to build relationships that reflect biblical love, peace, and wisdom, and offer many links to Christian resources, helplines, counseling, Bible study tools, and encouragement pages.

What are good, healthy relationships, and how essential are they for a fulfilling life? They’re like having a dance partner who is interested and willing to share the floor with you. It is imperative that healthy relationships establish boundaries such as mutual respect, honesty, and transparency. Intellectual conversations, emotional connections, serious discussions, and even funny moments are shared in healthy relationships. It’s a give-and-take relationship in which both parties contribute to each other’s growth and happiness.

Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Instead, in humility, value others above yourselves.

Good Healthy Relationships Start with God’s Love!

Love God and love others! NeedEncouragement.com

Love is more than just saying words; it shows respect to God and others with our words and deeds!

Having lived my life for over 60 years, I have had the opportunity to be in many relationships since I was a young boy. We often run into many healthy relationships, some neutral, and some very destructive ones (centered on alcohol and drugs), leading to many problems in my life. I refer to many types of people: family, friends, relatives, classmates, co-workers, and strangers.

Anyone you and I come into contact with could be someone you could become friends with. Would you consider yourself an “other-person-oriented” person or more of a “self-centered” person? If you are a “self-centered” person, maybe today is the day to look at that and try to change your ways.
