In this vast and ever-evolving world, it’s easy to get lost in the allure of temporary happiness. We all need to learn how to find contentment. Moments that promise pleasure, like drugs, alcohol, gambling, overeating, or engaging in sex outside of marriage may seem appealing at first glance. They offer a fleeting escape from reality – a quick fix for our restless souls. Yet deep down inside, we know that something is missing; an emptiness that cannot be filled by these surface-level indulgences alone. That is where contentment comes into play; it holds the key to unlocking true satisfaction.

Contentment Isn’t Just About Finding Momentary Joy ~ It Goes Far Beyond That. It’s A State Of Being Rooted In Doing The Will Of God. After All, Society Bombards Us With Messages Telling Us Otherwise – Urging Us To Chase After Instant Gratification Rather Than Seeking Lasting Fulfillment In God. But Let Me Assure You: The Contentment Found In Aligning Ourselves With God’s Purpose Surpasses Any Other So-Called Pleasure Imaginable.

Contentment transcends mere moments and extends into eternity itself. When we prioritize following the Lord and making His will our own above succumbing to selfish desires driven by temptation, we unlock a profound sense of peace and completeness. The path toward true contentment may not always be straightforward or effortless—but remember that you’re never alone on this journey. With God as your guide and constant companion, every step becomes more manageable. ~ Bill Greguska

Hebrews 13:5  Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

How Much Contentment Is In Your Life?

How To Find Contentment In Your Life? NeedEncouragement.comThe word contentment can mean a lot of different things to different people. For example, someone might enjoy eating large amounts of food, drinking mass amounts of alcohol, or being content doing nothing. On the other hand, others find comfort and peace in the scriptures, which would better gauge where true contentment comes from in your life.

How are you finding satisfaction in your life? Whatever makes you feel content, be sure it honors God because if it does not praise God, you are wasting your time. Apostle Paul talked about being content in all his life situations, either good or bad. My mom told me that we ought to be thankful for the cross we ought to be grateful for the cross that we bear because there are other people with bigger crosses! Strive to live with contentment. ~ Bill Greguska

What Is The Secret How To Find Contentment?

Godliness With Contentment Is A Great Gain!Godliness With Contentment Is Great Gain! NeedEncouragement.com

When you find contentment, you find a treasure! If you are anything like me, when I find myself most content, it is either when I focus on being thankful for what I have or when I can accept that I do not have what I believe I need. I learned that running after, such as abusing unhealthy things such as drugs, alcohol, food, or anything else, is no longer the way it needs to be, and I can try to be content in whatever situation I am in.

Proverbs 30:7-9 “Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal and so dishonor the name of my God.

How To Find Contentment ~ Not-To-Do List:

To find true contentment, we must establish some basic guidelines.

  • Do not compare yourself to others because that is unproductive.  2 Cor. 10:12 Be sure that you Do not compare your job, body, friends, or spouse with what other people have. It is better to admire them instead.

  • Do not let the spirit of fear attack us. One of Satan’s most useful tools against people is the question, “What if?” Dedicated people get trapped in hoarding because they fear the “What if?” we do not have enough money, are worried about retirement, thoughts about a possible disability or unemployment, economic collapse, etc.

  • Do not put your hope in money, which is uncertain. Instead, put your faith in God because He is the one who blesses you!

Find Contentment And Gratitude In Your Life!

How To Find Contentment ~ To-Do List:

  • Have a thought-out plan for whatever money you have. We all are at different economic levels. He has placed you on whatever level; live within those means, and be thankful for everything.

  • Make a good plan to give to others. That means sharing your money, time, talents, tears, and energies.

  • Develop your priorities and write them on paper.  There are more Christians than you can imagine who are not content. Not because they are not doing well but because others have more or are doing better. People often look at what they don’t have and become dissatisfied and sad instead of thanking God for what they have and being content with what He has supplied in their lives.

  • Practice a positive, thankful attitude. It is remarkable that living in America, we could never think that God has failed us materially. That approach is possible only when Satan convinces us to compare ourselves to others. The primary defense against this attitude is praise to God. Satan uses lavishness and waste to create discontent and selfish ambition. Thankfulness is a state of mind, not an accumulation of things. Until you can honestly thank God for what you have and be willing to accept God’s provision the way He has chosen, contentment will never be possible.

  • Sure to Seek God’s will. “More than that, I count all things to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ” (Philippians 3:8).

  • Develop an attitude of gratitude, and you will find so much more contentment in doing so. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Don’t focus on your circumstances or what you don’t have. Focus on what you do have, and thank God for it! Until God gives us something different, we must be content with what we have and do not have.

  • Trust in God’s promise. “The peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:7.

Ask For Direction

(This is from The Book I wrote)

Lord, I usually take my concerns to you, but sometimes I choose to struggle on my own or to go to a friend instead of to you, which I know isn’t right. It doesn’t matter if my problems are insignificant or overwhelming – I know you will show me the way when I humbly come to you. If I lack wisdom in any area, I know I ought to go to you, seeking your wisdom, instead of doing what I feel is right. Lord, I thank you for wonderful Godly people such as Ron and Sue Sauer, Mark Mallwitz, and a few others who have helped me so much over the years pointing me to you.

I have learned that what feels good is often not right for me. First, I must bring the situation into the light of your truth. I know it is wrong to think it is okay to do my own thing or continue to sin without confessing and repenting. How can I expect you to answer my prayers if I willfully live in disobedience?

You tell me to come to you in prayer when I have doubts and fears. Give me the specific direction I need, along with the patience to do what is good, right, and honorable. Help me be obedient, not pulled off track by my flesh, the devil, or worldly temptations; otherwise, I will be discontented, unproductive, and far from you. Lord, I admit that sometimes when I should be going to you, I just muscle through life on my own, which is not right or good.

John 14:14 ~ Jesus said, “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

God doesn’t seek for golden vessels and does not ask for silver ones, but He must have clean ones. ~ Dwight L. Moody, American evangelist, publisher, and founder of the Moody Church.
