100 Bible Verses About Sexuality
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or need some encouragement.
This page is a Christian teaching resource about sexuality. We emphasize that God created sex as good, but only for a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman in marriage. We list many common questions about sex (desire, premarital sex, cohabitation, pornography, gender-related issues, homosexuality, birth control, abortion, rape, and reproductive technologies) and point readers to Bible verses and external resources for answers. Our core message is that sexual activity outside heterosexual marriage is sinful but forgivable through confession and repentance, and that Christians should seek purity, self-control, and biblical guidance to deal with sexual temptation and behavior.

Is Living Together Before Marriage Acceptable?
Men or women who are sexually active outside marriage, living together or not, are practicing a biblically immoral lifestyle, dishonoring God, and destroying their spiritual health and future marital life.Â
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
2 Corinthians 12:21
Galatians 5:19-21
1 Timothy 1:8-11
Ephesians 5:3-5
1 Corinthians 13:20
Colossians 3:5Â
1 Corinthians 10:8
Hebrews 12:15-17
1 Thessalonians 4:1-7
Because of these Biblical imperatives, we expect unmarried couples to live apart and be sexually abstinent until marriage.
What Was Sex Ultimately Designed For?Â
What About Same-Sex Relationships?
Though experiencing attraction to a person of one’s gender is not a sin, those who experience same-sex attraction are never free, biblically, to become sexually active with someone of the same sex. (Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-28) Rather, they must seek God’s help and the support of trusted friends within the church to remain sexually abstinent.
They may or may not reach a point at which they no longer feel attracted to members of their own gender. Notwithstanding God’s calling for them, as for all believers regardless of gender, interest, or singleness, is to be obedient to the moral standards of Scripture, either in abstinence outside marriage or sexual union within heterosexual marriage.
How Do We Fight Sexual Temptation?
Some Specific Scriptures To Encourage You:
1 Corinthians 6:9-10Â ESVÂ
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Leviticus 18:22Â ESVÂ
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
1 Corinthians 6:18-19 ESV
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.
