Every man is exposed daily to sexually laced media such as cable TV, TV commercials, the Internet, cell phones, magazines, billboards, and a culture that has turned away from moral decency in the many ways women dress, flaunting their goods to seduce men.

Out of all the men in our churches, almost 70% have a problem with pornography to some degree. In our society, we have to make that choice. It is a natural choice for some; for others, it is not easy. Sex is in the brain. The brain is powerful enough to do either good or evil; your choice must be pornography or purity.

God has given us the power to decide what we do with our lives, and if you want to live a life of purity, then know that He will be there every step of the way. Of course, it won’t be easy – temptation comes at us from all angles. But remember: when faced with temptation, call on Jesus’ name because He hears your pleas. The best defense against sexual sin such as pornography is to avoid it either before it tempts you or flee from it if you have fallen into its grip.

Definition of debauchery = extreme indulgence in bodily pleasures and especially sexual pleasures: behavior involving sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. that is often considered immoral

Definition of lewd = crude and offensive in a sexual way. “she began to gyrate to the music and sing a lewd song.”

Definition of lascivious = filled with or showing sexual desire: lewd, lustful, lascivious acts/thoughts

  4. Set boundaries on your mobile device. Guard your eyes and guard your mind.
  5. If you have offline pornography at your disposal, destroy it.
  6. Take all forms of media seriously.
  7. If you are married, take a step back and consider your marriage.
  8. Realize that you didn’t just become addicted to porn. That long stare at a woman walking by, or the double-take at the lady you just walked by.
  9. Please take a second and think beyond the images or videos you’re watching. Remember that this is a person, a real woman, a human being created by God, just like you. She’s somebody’s daughter, sister, or even mother.
  10. Your pornography addiction is a heart issue first. It’s an idolatry issue. You are exchanging the truth for a lie. Also, you are voluntarily placing your affections on the cheap thrills that are ultimately fleeting and leave you feeling worthless. And not to mention that you were created for God by God. Your desires were meant to be focused on honoring Him. Ask God to help you every time you are tempted.

What Does The Bible Say About Pornography Or Purity?

The Seventh Of The Ten Commandments is “You shall not commit adultery.” According to God’s standards in the Bible, if you’ve ever looked at another person with lustful thoughts, that makes you an “adulterer.”

Jesus said, “You have heard it said, You shall not commit adultery: But I say to you, that whoever looks on a woman to lust after she has committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28)

Jesus said it would be better for you to be blind and go to Heaven than for your eye to cause you to sin and end up in Hell (Matthew 5:29).

God’s word says that every secret sin is laid bare before the holy eyes of God. God will punish all adulterers and fornicators (those who have sex before marriage). God judges our secret thoughts and every deed done in darkness. When your time is done here on earth, will you be found to be guilty or innocent?
