Would you like to talk to someone? Click Here! I have self-doubt. I have insecurity. I have a fear of failure. I have nights when I show up at the arena, and I’m like, ‘My back hurts, my feet hurt, my knees hurt. I don’t have it. I just want to chill.’ We all have self-doubt. You don’t deny it, but you don’t capitulate to it either. You embrace it. ~ Kobe Bryant

Each of us has our own insecurities we deal with day-to-day. Being aware of our insecurities helps us overcome them much more easily. It is wonderful to try to help yourself or someone you know who is insecure. Assuming you trust the Bible, many passages address insecurity.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.

Where Are You? Where Are You Planning To Go?

Whether you are in a relationship with a friend, family member, coworker, or romantic partner, it can be a struggle for others if you don’t take things to God or someone who really knows you and has earned your trust.

  • It is interesting that I would say most people go to God in prayer as a last resort.
  • Also, many people go to the Bible for support as a last resort.
  • When you acknowledge to yourself what you are dealing with, you will realise that you are not the only one going through difficulties.
  • Maybe you might have just gone through a breakup, divorce, lost a job, the death of a loved one, or done poorly on a test. Ask yourself what’s really bothering you, and you can figure out how to deal with it a lot better.
  • Oftentimes, when a person is insecure, they don’t take care of their physical or emotional health.
  • Be sure to eat healthy, drink enough water, exercise, get 7-8 hours of sleep, and avoid non-prescribed drugs and alcohol.
  • Spend time with others who build you up.
  • If you have any unconfessed sin in your life, confess it to God right away.

When you have a relationship with God, He will always be there to pray to. God is not like a magic wand; He is the creator of this world and of you and me. He loves us and wants us to obey Him. Many of us have tried to manage life on our own terms, yet we have failed. We need God to show us the way, and the way to do that is to pray and read the Bible.

God allows some insecurities in our personality along our journey to give us wisdom to avoid things that are not helpful to us. But the one who wants to steal, kill, and destroy us is the real author of unhealthy insecurity.  So, stop allowing Satan to mess up your life with insecurity.
