I have lived for 64 years and have owned three different dogs. There is something about having a dog that can not be compared to any friend or family member in the exact same way. A dog is a gift from God! Here is a gift you can make for your dog, it is very simple, inexpensive and healthy. There are 3 ingredients, peanut butter, banana, oats. View recipe.
Each of my dogs I owned were very special to me in their own way.
- When I was a freshman in high school, my mom allowed me to have a black Labrador, and I named her “Blackie.” She was very special to me since “Blackie” became the younger sibling that I never had.
- When I was in my 30’s, I found a stray dog on Hy ZZ and Hy N. I talked to the nearest cattle farmer, who warned me that the dog was going to get run over by a semi-truck. She was very obedient, loving, athletic, and loyal—she was, to me, the best dog ever!
- In my early 60’s, I was very sad about a relationship, and my good friend Katherine suggested I get a dog. I took her advice, and I am so glad I did. I named my new dog “Ceppi” after my former dog, which I loved so much!
Bottom line, a dog is man’s best friend! They love you unconditionally, they are always happy for you, they do not argue with you, they lick your face, they are always ready to play, they are loyal, they are never too busy, they are a great companion, and they are a great friend who is always around when you need them. Have you ever wondered if dogs go to heaven? I was told that dogs do not have a soul because only people do, which means that dogs might not be in heaven. But I would like that. But you have a soul, and you are welcomed to heaven someday. Proverbs 26:17 Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own.
