It has been a very popular statement, and many people want to know: “How to let go and let God.” It sounds like a noble cause to pursue.  This may seem simple to some, but it can sometimes be difficult for others to do. Yes, on the one hand, it is wise not to worry and let go and let God deal with the baggage of emotions. But on the other hand, as Christians, we are to work together with God, so if we abandon things, how can we still work with God? At the very least, we should be praying and open to make ourselves available to remain obedient to God’s will, whatever that might look like.

I Can Say The Words Out Loud And Agree That They Were Good, But In Reality, I Sometimes Practiced What I Refer To As The “Pitbull Syndrome,” Which Came Upon Me When I Got Into A Conflict Or Was Hurt By Someone Else. Holding On To The Hurt And Frustration. I Learned To Let Go And Let God Eventually!  I Pray You Do The Same!

My pastor, Danny Francis, told me that sometimes when we can not resolve a problem with someone relatively simply, that’s okay. Just take the situation to God in prayer and fix things with God. (You will know what to do through God’s word or through prayer.) Trying to force a problem to be resolved can sometimes cause more problems. Jesus is our best defense attorney, so file your grievance with the Lord.

My brain knew the right answer to the question (let go and let God), but my flesh sometimes seemed to have a mind of its own as I ruminated over and over again about the conversation or event that happened that upset me. Apostle Paul says to “throw off everything that hinders us and the sin that so easily entangles us” Hebrews 12.1. I figured that since I have some practical experience in this area, I wanted to share the insights I have learned, which have improved my life. Here are some essential tips on understanding and accomplishing the goal we are focusing on, which is to “Let go and let God.” ~ Bill Greguska

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” Matthew 6:34

What Does It Mean To Let God?

Some Things That We Need To Learn!

1) Figure out what you can control ~ and what you can’t.

(this first one is very simple)

2) Focus and contend with what you can control.

(this sorts the clutter in our brains)

3) Give up trying to control what you can’t control.

(this frees up your energy to focus on what you can control)

4) Take time to think about the promises of your faithful God.

(often, we take over control of what is God’s responsibility, not ours)

5) Come up with a “letting go” motto.

(i.e., open palm, or maybe “what would God want me to do?”)

6) Commit yourself not to act on fear but rather on faith.

(ask yourself what is motivating you?)

7) Focus yourself on trusting God today.

(this takes prayer, reading scriptures, and quiet time with God)

God Is Up To Something Great!

Letting Go And Letting God Is A Daily, Moment-By-Moment Choice!

Like all life disciplines, we must learn to give it all to God.

  1. Let go and let God have control of your present situation that is upsetting you.
  2. Let go and let God have the driver’s wheel, and let Him lead.
  3. Let go and let God have your anxieties, worries, and fears.
  4. Let go and let God have your marriage.
  5. Let go and let God have your broken relationship or divorce.
  6. Let go and let God have your angry thoughts.
  7. Let go and let God have your health.
  8. Let go and let God have the last word before making a decision.
  9. Let go and let God have your finances.
  10. Let go and let God have your plans and dreams.

Control is the hardest thing to give up because, without it, we feel vulnerable. But we do not need to worry. God is already in control.

Let Go And Let God Since God Is In Control Anyway!

Trusting And Submitting to God ~

Letting go and letting God means submitting to God without remaining in doubt and having a sense that you are being owed something. If our hands are full, how can we receive what God wants to offer us? The Lord teaches us how to replace pride with humility and tolerance. As it says in Proverbs 3:6, “Submit to him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.”

When we give our all to God and submit, our paths become straight, and we can see things with a broader sense of purpose and discern better. This is the ultimate translation of letting go and letting God.

About the Author:

In 2007, my pastor Ron Sauer and his wife Sue encouraged me to encourage others, knowing that I was struggling in my own life. They were wise to know that if I reached out to help other people, my problems would be put into perspective. I did, and it helped! Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. And If you do not have a relationship with God, I encourage you to learn about Him here. I trust you will find the encouragement you need here on this website.
