Feeling rejected can cut deep, leaving us feeling alone and unworthy of love. But it’s important to remember that God created us with an innate need for connection and community; we were wired to love and be loved in return. When others reject us, it can cause pain that feels like a physical wound, but don’t forget that you are never truly alone when walking with the Lord. God loves you unconditionally and constantly watches over you, even in your darkest moments. Don’t be discouraged by rejection because God has a purpose for everything He allows to happen!

Psalm 66:20  Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!

How To Deal With Rejection The Right Way?

Pray about everything to align yourself with God’s purpose rather than relying on limited human wisdom or resources. Is There Anything Worse Than Feeling Rejected?

If you think about it, rejection can be very devastating. It can break your heart and leave scars that can last for years if not dealt with appropriately. Some things that can hurt are mean words, bullying, ridicule, being sworn at, being told you are hated, and being called ugly, stupid, and unwanted.

All these derogatory words and actions can cause deep wounds to any of us! Most likely, you have experienced some or all of these things. We give others a lot of power and control over us. But if we are wise, we can break that bondage and go to God for the acceptance and love we need!

Do not let rejection knock the wind out of you; stand up for yourself, and do not allow others to attack you repetitively. Get with a close friend or family member. Work out solutions to any rejection you might be experiencing. Don’t let rejection affect you any longer; you are worthwhile, loved, and cared for by God!

Why Were You Feeling Rejected?

I was lucky that most people always seemed to like me when I was growing up. I played basketball in grade school and Pius High School, which made being popular pretty easy. People knew me as a friendly guy, a little goofy, but with a good sense of humor. Sometimes our hearts must endure crushing pain, despair, ridicule, and rejection, but we can find comfort in knowing that God will never leave us or forsake us. We need to call on Him in prayer and walk with Him each day.

Each of us has our own story to tell, yet we all have experienced rejection at some point in our lives. How were you rejected?

Keeping this perspective helps us make sense of life and endure. We are hard-pressed on every side but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair, 2 Corinthians 4:8. I am sure you can relate to such rejections. So, what do you do with them? First, take all your anxiety to the Lord because He cares for you. He has a plan for your life and does not want you to lose heart. You need to trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your understanding but follow His will, plan for your life, and leave the rest to Him.

Some Specific Scriptures To Encourage You:

John 15:18 ESV

If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

1 Peter 5:7 ESV

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Romans 8:31 ESV

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:1 ESV

There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
