How To Achieve Reconciliation?
Forgiveness is a command from God. Reconciliation is NOT a command!

God calls us to love one another. How to achieve reconciliation is the question. There is a difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. It is clear what is written in Matthew 6:15 But. if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Reconciliation goes one step beyond forgiveness. God commands us to forgive, but God does not command us to be reconciled in every situation.
Reconciliation Is A Very Powerful And Beautiful Thing. It Allows Us To Come Together With Others, Admit Our Faults, And Work Towards Healing Relationships That Have Been Broken. Although It May NOT Always Be Possible To Restore A Relationship In The Way We Desire Fully, Forgiveness, Which Is Different, Is Still Commanded By God!
1) Forgiveness In The Bible Is A “Release” Or A “Dismissal” Of Some Harm. God Commands Us To Forgive One Another.
2) Reconciliation Is The Restoration Of A Relationship To A Harmonious State After A Dispute. God Considers Reconciliation As An Option Due To The Sensitive Nature Of The Offence. But Forgiveness Is Still Commanded By God!
God commands and teaches us to forgive others as He has forgiven us, which requires humility and grace. Sometimes, it takes time for wounds to heal or for hearts to soften, but reconciliation can bring about incredible relationship restoration. We must remember that forgiveness is not an option, even when things cannot be put back healthily. As difficult as it may be, let us strive towards reconciling with one another whenever possible to experience the beauty of restored relationships in our lives. ~ Bill Greguska

Does Forgiveness Always Mean Reconciliation?

All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life?
Matthew 18:15-17 ESV
“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 ESV

My pastor, Danny Francis, told me that sometimes when we can not resolve a problem with someone relatively simply, that’s okay. Just take the situation to God in prayer and resolve things with God. (You will know what to do through God’s word or prayer.) Trying to force a problem to be resolved can sometimes cause more problems. Jesus is our best defense attorney, so file your grievance with the Lord.
