It is a plain fact that we are all have lied. God hold sins such as lying, stealing, adulty, murder and the only way to get out of the judgment for our lies is to confess them to God and turn from them. Sometimes there are consequences to our sins, even if we are forgive, that is just the way it is.

When I Way Young Like Everyone One Else, I Lied To Protect Myself From Consequences. Later On When I Had An Addiction To Drugs And Alcohol In The 70’s and 80’s, I Had To Lie To Cover Up My Tracks And To Be Able To Keep Using Drugs And Alcohol. Looking Back, I Feel Very Badly That I Used To Lie To My Parent Who I Loved Very Much, On A Regular Basis When It Came To Protecting My Addictions. I Thank God Lying Is Not A Part Of My Life Any Longer.

I think the question, “What does God say about lying?” is what we ought to focus on, rather than the convenience of lying. When we sin, often times there is more than just one sin involved, usually the supplementally sin of lying peeks its ugly head out to add to the initial sin. ~ Bill Greguska

What Does The Bible Say About White Lies?

God Hates Lying!

The Bible is clear that lying is a sin and is displeasing to God. The first sin in this world involved a lie told to Eve. The Ten Commandments given to Moses includes: “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Exodus 20:16).

In the early church, Ananias and Sapphira lied regarding a donation in order to make themselves look more generous than they really were. Peter’s rebuke is stern: “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?” (Acts 5:3). God’s judgment was sterner: the couple died as a result of their sin of lying (Acts 5:1–11).

Colossians 3:9 says, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices.” Lying is listed in 1 Timothy 1:9-11 as something practiced by the lawless. Furthermore, liars will be among those judged in the end (Revelation 21:8). In contrast, God never lies (Titus 1:2). He is the source of truth. “It is impossible for God to lie” (Numbers 23:19).

Three Things God Always Does To A Liar!

In Every Case, What Does God Say About Lying?

Jesus called Himself the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and He expects those who follow Him to be people of truth. The truth is to be expressed in love (Ephesians 4:15), offering hope to those seeking redemption from the lies of the world.

I also recall the story of Corrie ten Boom who was a Dutch resistance hero and writer TenBoom.org Cornelia Arnolda Johanna “Corrie” ten Boom was a Dutch watchmaker and later a Christian writer and public speaker, who worked with her father, Casper ten Boom, her sister Betsie ten Boom and other family members to help many Jewish people escape from the Nazis during the Holocaust in World War II by hiding them in her home.
