Trying to recover from a divorce can be extremely painful for everyone involved!

Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or need some encouragement.

This page says divorce is deeply painful and should not be the first answer, especially from a Christian perspective. It emphasizes that marriage is meant to be lifelong, and we also acknowledge that divorce can happen because of hardened hearts, selfishness, sin, anger, and betrayal. There are definitely devastating effects on the couple and children if there are any. God hates divorce, but due to the hardening of the heart, he allows it due to infidelity. We hope you can work out your marriage and not become another statistic. Divorce is not the answer; love is the answer. We also include many supporting links and categories for encouragement, counseling, prayer, addiction help, faith, relationships, and marriage resources across the site.

Without any doubt, divorce is excruciatingly painful! Divorce is not the answer! And it leaves deep scars… I know! It is also an extremely challenging experience.  If you have been divorced or know someone who has been, there is healing available—understanding how two individuals who once shared such profound love could part ways is bewildering. Yet, it is crucial to acknowledge that each divorce holds its distinct set of circumstances and reasons. Sometimes, despite both partners’ efforts, things don’t align. Selfishness, sin, anger, and betrayal get in the way. However disheartening this reality may be, let us not forget the silver lining amid the turmoil: divorce presents an unforeseen opportunity for transformation. Engaging in counseling or therapy during this period can unearth invaluable lessons about oneself, relationship dynamics, and individual needs, moving forward on the path toward healing and rebuilding, and possibly remarrying the divorced spouse, since God hates divorce. So, is divorce the answer?

Matthew 5:32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Better Pre-Marital Counseling Could Have Helped!

When we got married, we were both about 37. It was my first marriage and her second. It is hard to blend our lifestyles and raise the same boy in two distinct but loving styles. We had different ways of looking at the same things in life, and we saw this and other essential stuff on our honeymoon.

Yes, marriage is supposed to be until death do us part, but God knew that people’s hearts could harden. So, He gave His people a way out. God hates divorce, and by all means, it should be the very last possible option. I fought to keep my marriage alive, even though it was excruciating.  I feared God more than my ex-wife or anyone else, but unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce! ~ Bill Greguska
