100 Bible Verses About Depression!

If you are struggling with depression, this page is sure to encourage you. I encourage you to seek help through prayer, trusted friends, family, doctors, and the church community, and to remember that you are not alone and that difficult seasons pass. It shares my personal experience with depression, highlights biblical hope and key scriptures, offers practical self‑care questions (sleep, exercise, diet, relationships, forgiveness), and urges anyone who may be truly depressed or suicidal to seek professional help and use crisis resources immediately. I remember one scripture, among many, that gave me comfort: “Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” That made so much sense to me, and I am so thankful that God was with me during my depression, even though I felt so very down and helpless; I was reminded by fellow believers like Sue Sauer and my mom that this too shall pass, and it did pass in time, and God can do the same for you. God promises that He will not leave you or forsake you.

Is There Hope for Depression?
Remember that spring always follows a cold winter; seasons also come and go in life. Don’t give up hope! I have been seriously depressed three times in my life, and I know it is not a good place to be. Then it is time to start getting back up! There is help for depression, and it begins with prayer!
I have been hit by depression three significant times in my life at ages 16, 45, and 62; each time was tough, but with God and help from my doctor, family, and friends, I made it through alright. Being alone too much is not a good idea. God created us to be social beings, and we need others! Keep reaching out for help to family, friends, the church, the pastor, and medical professionals. People must keep their eyes on God and ride out the storm the best they can. I have done that, and it seems to work for me. ~ Bill Greguska
