It is a fascinating question: “Does God approve of tattoos?” My opinion about tattoos may differ from yours, but that’s what makes us unique individuals. Everyone has their own beliefs and preferences regarding body art. If you have a tattoo and genuinely love it, then embrace it. But keep in mind that tattoos are not permanent, so you can change your mind later. I went through an experience with tattoos during my teenage years. At 16, while I was using drugs and drinking a lot, I impulsively inked myself multiple times without much thought or consideration for the long-term consequences. As time passed, I realized my mistakes and sought professional help to cover them adequately. I got all my homemade tattoos when I was about 16. I had them professionally covered when I was about 19. Then, when I was in my early 40s, my boss offered to pay for their removal. I was shocked and joyful at the same time. I took him up on his offer. If I knew what I did not know back then, I would never have gotten any tattoos.

However, fate had something unexpected in store for me; my boss generously offered to pay the bill to have those tattoos removed completely. Each operation cost $400, and I had 13 operations in total. He also paid for the medication, bandages, and time off from work. He was a very generous Christian man whom God put in my life.

Everyone Has Their Own Story. God has given us All Free Will!

However, while sharing this story of personal triumph over regrettable choices regarding tattoos, one question still lingers in my mind: “Does having a tattoo glorify God?” Ultimately, individuals must ponder this and reach a conclusion based on their faith and relationship with God. On the one hand, our Creator has granted us free will, the freedom to choose according to our desires and inclinations. Yet as Christians who faithfully follow Jesus Christ, we should strive to align our actions with God. It says in Leviticus 19:28, “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord. (This is from the Old Testament, yet one needs to understand what God’s word means. There is debate over the value of tattoos. Some people like them, and other people do not. I hesitated when I first thought of adding the topic of tattoos to this website. My reason is that it is a highly polarizing issue. Having tattoos does not mean you are not a Christian or not a good person. Not having tattoos does not mean you are not a Christian or a good person.

A Person’s Heart Makes Them A Christian When They Choose To Follow Jesus Christ!

The purpose of this website is to encourage and inform you of things that will help you. I will share some thoughts for you to consider. (I believe tattoos are a questionable choice overall. This is primarily for young people who get them without thinking or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, yet I am not the one to judge. God gives us the freedom to do what we want. It comes down to our motives.

Free Will?

As I said, God gives us free will to do what we want, but we cannot choose the consequences of our choices. When I got my tattoos, I was living a rebellious lifestyle. I wanted to wear tattoos to shout out my rebellion. I have had many tattoos on both arms, my right hand, my big toes, my chest, and my leg. I have seen some very artistic and meaningful tattoos over the years. They are no longer for me and what I stand for in my life today. That is just my opinion. You need to ask God what He wants you to do or not do, since He has given us all free will; yet, in our free will, we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions and words.
