1 Corinthians 6:19  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

 

Whatever we put into our body, we want it to strengthen it, not harm it, because our body is not our own. We as Christians have been bought with a price, which is Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, as a ransom for our sins.

 

Are you treating your body like a temple or a garage?

 


 

1 Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

 

God’s word does not say most temptations, but it says No temptation, which means that you will never be given more than you and God cannot handle together.

 

Do you trust that God loves you and would not give you more than you could handle without His help?

 


 

2 Corinthians 5:21  God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

 

Do you realize that if Jesus did not die for our sins on the cross at Calvery, we would have had to pay the penalty for our sins?

 

Does that have a significant impact on your life?

 


 

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

 

Before you became a believer, you were living as the world lives in sin, but once you became born again, the old person you were has died, and the new person you are now is alive.

 

Have you thanked God recently for this new life He has given you?

 


 

2 Corinthians 12:9  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

 

When we feel that we are not good enough, strong enough, smart enough, etc., it is those times that we need to understand that is more than sufficient when we call upon Him, and it is then that His power comes upon us to provide for our needs.

 

Do you see God’s power in your life working things out for you?

Galatians 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

 

When we walk with the Lord, we will exhibit the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. When we are walking in our flesh, we will exhibit the opposite, lust, anger, greed, lying, stealing, and deceit.

 

What do you do to be actively involved with living a Spirit-filled life?

 


 

Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

 

Once we have given our life to Christ, we have been given a new life, and this life is in Christ, who died for us and our sins.

 

Do you believe you no longer have to pay the death penalty because Jesus paid it in full on the cross at Calvery?

 


 

Galatians 5:23  gentleness and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.

 

When we are not in control or gentle with others, that too is considered a sin, so to avoid sin, understand the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

 

When it is said, “Against such things, there is no law.” Do you genuinely believe that?

 


 

Ephesians 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works so that no one can boast.

 

It is not what you do that will get you into heaven. It is what has been done, which is Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross for the payment of our sins, for those of us who confess Him as our Lord and Savior.

 

Do you agree that it is not what we do that saves us? Instead, it is a gift from God that no one can claim to have earned.

 


Ephesians 2:10  For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

 

God has a purpose for every one of us. We need to honor God in all we do and do His will in our works to please Him.

 

Is what you are doing in your life a reflection of how God has gifted and enabled you?

 


 

Ephesians 3:20  Now to him who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power at work within us.

 

When parents love and bless their children with things, they do so from their limited human existence. The Lord does immeasurably more than we could imagine.

 

Do you entirely rely on God, or do you limit His ability to bless you because of a lack of faith?

 


 

Philippians 1:6  being confident of this that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

 

Sometimes we falter or struggle, and life can be a series of disappointments, but remember that the good work that God started in you will continue until the day of the return of Jesus Christ.

 

How much confidence do you have in God’s word?

Philippians 4:6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

 

We all become anxious at times, but do we go to God in prayer or just flounder in our anxiety and stress?

 

Can you think about this next time you get in that situation?

 


Philippians 4:7-8  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

 

Too often, we fill our minds with worries, anxiety, and the ugliness of life, not to mention the sin that so easily entangles us. But with God, we can keep our thoughts on what is true, noble, correct, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.

 

That is when our lives are lined up with God. Is your life lined up with God, or are you struggling?

 


 

Philippians 4:13  I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

 

Do not doubt that we can do something even with God’s help, enabling us to do everything. God himself has promised to give us the strength and wisdom we need to do all things.

 

Do you believe we need to call on Him and trust His word?

 


Colossians 3:12  Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

 

We all fall short of what God intends us to be at times, but when we try to live life with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, we are well on our way to pleasing God.

 

Does the way you live your life please God?

 


 

Colossians 3:23  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.

 

When you are at work or school, do not do things to please your boss or teachers, but rather, do all things you do, do it unto the Lord, not for me.

 

Do you try to think like this each day?

 


 

2 Timothy 1:7  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and self-discipline.

 

Do not be afraid because fear is not from God but from Satan, who wants to kill, steal, and destroy you.

 

Is fear or timidity something that is holding you back?

 


2 Timothy 3:16  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.

 

The privilege of having the Bible is available to help ourselves and others we encounter. Use scripture to allow God to personally teach you and others, rebuke you and others, correct you and others, and train yourself and others.

 

How highly do you value the Bible in your life?

 


 

Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

 

The Bible has a distinct purpose of showing us right from wrong and good from evil. Before you read the Bible, take a moment to pray to ask God to help you understand and apply His word.

 

Do you read the Bible enough to understand what it is trying to teach you?

 


 

Hebrews 4:15  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.

 

Jesus was fully man yet fully God at the same time. He was tempted too, yet He did not fall for our tests.

 

What are some ways you see God working out His beauty and mighty in the things and people of this world?

 


Hebrews 4:16  Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

 

We all go through hard times but never give up calling on the Lord for help. He will be faithful in your times of need. Sometimes His timing is not the same as ours, so be patient.

 

Do you find it easy to reach out to God for help?

 


 

Helpful Scriptures Tell Us That God Has A Plan For Each One Of Us!


 

Hebrews 10:25  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

 

Going to church does not get us to heaven necessarily, but not going to church can weaken us because of a lack of hearing the word of God preached and a lack of fellowship with other believers.

 

Has it been a struggle for you to attend church regularly?

 


 

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

 

Faith is not seeing what you want to happen, yet knowing God loves you and will provide for you before He does anything.

 

Is your faith strong enough to patiently wait on the Lord?

 


 

Hebrews 11:6  And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

 

Sometimes people think that going to church on Sundays is enough to prove that they have faith. Seeking God is a daily event, not a weekly ritual.

 

The devil believes that God exists, but does your belief in God make a difference in how you live your life each day?

 


 

Hebrews 12:1  Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

 

If drinking, drug addiction, gambling, sex outside of marriage, stealing, lying, or any other sin is holding you back from living the life and running the race God has for you, then throw off these things today, you may need help to do so, but with God all things are possible. He will lead you to the freedom He intends for you to have.

 

Are you chained to addiction or sinful habits and need help?

 


 

Hebrews 12:2  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

 

When we get our eyes off God and put them on to our problems, we lose track of our purpose.

 

If I have gotten off the track, do you think you can get your eyes back on God more quickly next time?

 


 

James 1:2  Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.

 

Nobody likes to go through trials of any kind, but God promises to strengthen us when we do go through those valleys in life. Tough times can teach us perseverance to make it through and prepare us for the following similar situations.

 

Are your trials making you more like Christ?

 


 

James 1:12  Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life God promised to those who love him.

 

It is hard sometimes to persevere under problems and trials. Do not lose faith, for, with your tests, you will receive the crown of life that God promises to those who love him.

 

Are you standing up under trials in your life right now?

 


James 5:16  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

 

God instructs us to confess our sins to one another because sin can weigh us down if we try to deal with it by ourselves. God wants you to be healed and free from sin. When there is sin in our lives, God has His hands somewhat tied in how He can answer your prayers.

 

Do you have any unconfessed sin in your life?

 


1 Peter 2:24  He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds, you have been healed.

 

Imagine how things would be if Christ never bore the pain on the cross and died for our sins.

 

Have you ever thought about the idea of Jesus never giving His life up for you?

 


 

1 Peter 3:15  But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

 

Make sure you are established in Jesus Christ and then be ready to share your faith with everyone. Make it a point to ask everyone in the circle of your acquaintances to discover their commitment to Jesus Christ. If they already have a relationship with Jesus, praise God. If not, then be willing to step in by sharing your faith with gentleness and respect.

 

Can you pray about sharing your faith with others you meet each day?

 


 

1 Peter 5:7  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

 

God makes it clear that we ought to trust in Him and hand over all our cares, worries, anxieties, and fears to Him.

 

Have you been able to cast your anxiety and burdens to the Lord pretty well lately?

 


 

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

 

Even though we may be born again, we still have a sinful nature. We are no longer controlled by it but still influenced by it. Since we are in Christ when we sin, we need to confess our sins, and the Lord will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness.

 

Do you keep short accounts of the sins you commit?

 


 

1 John 3:16  This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

 

When we do even the most minor acts of love and kindness, that can be a way of laying down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

 

Do you regularly lay down your life for your brothers and sisters?
