This scripture below is how our Ministry of Encouragement got its start. The ministry also came from the dedication, love and compassion my former pastor Ron and wife Sue Sauer showed me while I was having difficulties in my marriage, always pointing me to Jesus Christ for the strength I needed to make it through. I asked her and her husband Ron Sauer what I could do to repay them for all the help, love, compassion, wisdom, and strength they demonstrated to me in my time of trouble.
Ron and Sue Sauer simply asked me to comfort others with the comfort that I have received. This kept on echoing in my heart and mind until I believe that God had me start a 24 hour encouragement help line in 2005. Then about 2 years later NeedEncouragement.com started to reach out to others with similar life troubles that I had gone through in my life and made it through with God’s help.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Why do we care?
The fact is that God never left me or any of us during our darkest times of my life. Psalm 9:9 When I realized what God has done in my life, by helping me make it through many very difficult life struggles such as drugs and alcohol addiction, depression, and all kinds of stress.
It seemed that the only logical response that I came up with and that the Lord put on my heart to do, was to share what worked for me with others.
The Encouragement Ministry began out of my home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the winter of 2005 with a 24 Encouragement Help Phone Line.
In 2007 we expanded into the present web site NeedEncouragement.com.
ENCOURAGING WORDS OF WISDOM:
- “Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” John Wooden
- Hebrews 12:28-29 “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”
- What does the Bible say about thankfulness/gratitude? http://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-thankfulness-gratitude.html.
- “When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don’t you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out. Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–You may succeed with another blow, Success is failure turned inside out–The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.” — Author Unknown
- 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
