Divorce is excruciatingly painful! And it leaves deep scars… Believe me, I know! It is also an extremely challenging experience.  Understanding how two individuals who once shared such profound love could find themselves parting ways is bewildering. Yet, it is crucial to acknowledge that each divorce holds its distinct set of circumstances and reasons. Sometimes, despite both partners’ efforts, things don’t align. Selfishness, sin, anger, and betrayal get in the way. However disheartening this reality may be, let us not forget the silver lining amidst the turmoil – divorce presents an unforeseen opportunity for transformation. Engaging in counseling or therapy during this period can unearth invaluable lessons about oneself, relationship dynamics, and individual needs, moving forward on the path toward healing and rebuilding and possibly remarrying the divorced spouse since God hates divorce.

Although God hates divorce because of its devastating effects on families and relationships, sometimes the healing process must begin anew. Let us hope that those facing this tough time will find the strength to move ahead with grace and dignity while keeping faith in love’s ability to heal all wounds, but better yet, avoid divorce! Unfortunately, divorce is a word filled with complexity and sorrow and can shake the very foundation of two people who once loved each other deeply. It is perplexing how, once bound by love, individuals could reach a point where separation seems like the only option. Yet, we must remember that even though God hates divorce, He allows it due to our hardened hearts. In today’s society, divorce has unfortunately become an epidemic that plagues countless lives with its outrageous statistics.

We must empathize with those experiencing this painful journey; they endure emotional turmoil akin to tearing one flesh into two. But amidst these challenging circumstances, let us offer encouragement and support as we believe in their resilience and capacity for growth beyond this heart-wrenching moment. May they discover solace in knowing that through determination and unwavering trust in love’s transformative power, they can emerge from the darkness of divorce stronger than ever before – ready to embrace a new chapter enriched by lessons learned. Divorce is an unfortunate epidemic that has grown to outrageous statistics.  I understand the pain of going through a divorce; it is like ripping one flesh into two. ~ Bill Greguska

Matthew 5:32  But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Better Pre-Marital Counseling Could Have Helped!

When we got married, we were both about 37. It was my first marriage and her second. It is hard to blend our lifestyles and raise the same boy in two distinct but loving styles. We had different ways of looking at the same things in life, and we saw this and other essential stuff on our honeymoon.

Yes, marriage is supposed to be until death do us part, but God knew that people’s hearts could harden. So, He gave His people a way out. God hates divorce, and by all means, it should be the very last possible option. I fought to keep my marriage alive, even though it was excruciating.  I feared God more than my ex-wife or anyone else, but unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce! ~ Bill Greguska

Marriage Or Divorce

(This is a part of The Book I wrote)

Lord, I must say I do not understand why my marriage and so many others have ended in divorce. I believe you put my wife and me together, yet Satan pulled us apart as he did in so many other marriages. You know I did all I could do to keep us together, yet with the free will you give us all, my wife chose to leave the marriage to find herself.

Lord, it was a devastating blow that took years to recover from, and still, some scars and consequences have resulted from the marriage being torn in two.  There is no winner in a divorce except the lawyer.  Everyone involved pays an emotional price that often lasts for many years, and the scars continue forever.  Lord, I know now why you hate divorce so much.

Lord, the divorce had an impact on my life, similar to the issues I had in high school, removing my desire to live. Life became dark, and depression set in heavily; every day, I wished I were dead, which was crippling. How could I start my life over after a divorce when I was not convinced that I wanted to keep living? But Lord, you never gave up on me. I was very depressed and lost hope for some time, leading me to take anti-depressant medication temporarily. Thank you, Lord, that you supplied support for me. Otherwise, I might not have made it. I must always remember that if I am married, I will be content. If I am single, be content in my singleness. The grass is not greener on the other side.

A divorce is like an amputation: you survive it, but there’s less of you. ~ Margaret Atwood, Canadian poet, novelist, teacher, and environmental activist
