Please contact us if you have questions or if you need some encouragement.

Deep sadness is a heavy burden that can weigh us down and make it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s important to remember that we are human, and experiencing sadness is a natural part of our emotions. However, when deep sadness turns into depression, it can feel like an endless pit that we just can’t climb out of.

But let me encourage you – there is hope. God has given us tools and resources to help us through these difficult times. He never gives us more than we can handle, even though it may feel unbearable at times. You don’t have to go through this alone; reach out for help from your friends, family members, pastors, or counselors who care about you deeply. Remember that God loves each one of us unconditionally and provides for our every need according to His perfect plan. So if you’re struggling with deep sadness today, know that brighter days lie ahead – hold on tightly! Although deep sadness and depression are related, depression is like deep sadness on steroids. Knowing that God will not give us more than we can handle without a way out from under it is wise to be aware. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for help. ~ Bill Greguska

Psalm 3:5   I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me.

How Can Deep Sadness Be Overcome?

There Will Be Storms And Deep Sadness In Our Lives!

Weathering the storms of depression needs help from a close friend, church member, or possibly medical treatment. My pastor’s wife, Sue Sauer, helped me a lot when I was depressed while going through a divorce I did not want – also, my mother, Pastor Mark Mallwitz, and Pastor Dave Briscoe were all very encouraging.

I learned it took the load off my shoulders when I trusted a close friend for support. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Remember that sadness is a very regular part of life. Depression does not have to be a way of life! Like having a dog, depression can be controlled and trained. You can overcome depression and deep sadness with help from God and others in your life!

Did You Know President Lincoln Battled Depression?

President Abraham Lincoln battled depression, deep sadness, and suicide all his adult life.  Lincoln would not allow himself to carry a knife for fear of hurting himself or worse. Sometimes depression can be purely spiritual and must be fought with God’s word. Take your concerns to the Lord and ask the Lord for His help to sort things out with you.

Depression is the physical and emotional result of hopelessness, the “feeling” of hopelessness. We live in a world devoid of hope; depression becomes the emotional product of that reality. The only thing that will change one’s life sufficiently to destroy the cause, mechanics, and effects of depression is God’s hope and His word of faith. The answer is to get God’s hope back inside of you.

Is There Darkness Before The Light?

What Is Depression/Deep Sadness?

It is an illness that involves the brain. It can affect your thinking, mood, and daily activities. Depression is more than feeling sad for a few days. Depression can be mild or severe. Mild depression can become more severe if it’s not treated. Often people use the expression, “I am depressed about (_XYZ_),” which is not necessarily the same as clinical depression.

If you are diagnosed with depression, you aren’t alone. Depression is a widespread illness affecting millions of adults in the United States annually. The good news is that it can be treated. Getting help is the best thing you can do for yourself and your loved ones. You can feel better. Talking with a close friend, pastor, or counselor can help determine what is going on initially. It could be a lack of proper sleep, diet, exercise, etc.

Medical Help Can Be Very Helpful For Deep Sadness!

I suggest you see a doctor or therapist before getting too far down. Pay attention to your symptoms and the feedback from trusted friends and loved ones. The sooner you recognize and admit you are depressed, the sooner you can turn things around. God created medication for our good, and He also has given us doctors to help us. Sometimes, using anti-depressants for a short time can be very helpful. If you or someone you know suffers from depression, there is hope for depression, and help is available. You are not alone.
