1. Right Or Wrong?

Lord, most all of us want to do right in all aspects of our life, not just those areas others can easily see. Anyone can appear to do right, but you, Lord, know our heart, and we can not fool you. Living with a clear conscience is better than having silver and gold. Often laziness, a bad attitude, or indifference all fall under the umbrella of sin, which can lead us to do wrong things. If we ask ourselves if it is okay to drive 5 miles per hour over the speed limit, does that make it alright to justify breaking other rules or laws?

Lord, You have given us your word in the Bible, help us to use what you have shown us to live a Godly and upright life to do what is right.

Teach us to love what you love and hate what you hate so that someday we can hear you say to us, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Religion says to do; Christianity says it is done. We can not earn our way into heaven by doing right, but doing right is good because we are all sinners. Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left.

Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating. It’s just plain wrong. ~ Muhammad Ali was an American professional boxer and activist.

2. Born Again

Lord, since I had been born again on June 25, 1986, I am a new creation, and my hope now is in Jesus Christ, not myself anymore. Yes, I will still make mistakes and sin, but your Holy Spirit will forgive me and guide you to make things new again. When we become Born-again, the old is gone, and the new is here. We are so much better off, and we now have you, Lord, as our advocate, Savior, and friend. I needed to take an honest personal inventory of myself and learn that I am not as good as I thought I was, and not as bad as I thought I was either. Lord, if I know anyone who is not a new creation, help us to help them find out what is holding them back from becoming one?

Lord, we thank you for those of us who have been born again, and we also pray for those who have not yet been born again in your spirit as of yet.

Give us all a hunger to know you more, and to be able to live our lives for you. I choose to become born again. I realize the sin that I have been living with in the past. It is not what I wanted any longer because my eyes have been opened. I now please help me to continue to grow as a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

The question is what I wanted to do with the new life God has given me. This is the mission I want to take on. ~ Wilbert Tauzin II, American lobbyist and politician.

3. Pointing People to You

Lord, please help me to make a more significant effort to point others to you that we come into contact with Lord, either by our words or our actions. I can share my testimony of what my life was. 1. Before you got to know you, Lord. 2. Then knowing what you have done for our life by getting to know you. 3. Where do I see you leading me for the rest of my life? And anything else that you have done for you in my life. Has my walk with you Lord been something that we would be glad to share with others, or if there un-confessed sin in your life that need to be dealt with?

Lord, you tell us to share the gospel with others around our cities, states, countries, so please give us the wisdom to know how to witness to those who might not know about you yet.

Give us clarity to speech to be understood and your word Lord to open the hearts and minds of others to learn about you. We need to ask ourselves, what are we doing today to point others to you, Lord, such as family and friends? Matthew 28:19: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

I hope we never get to the point that we put ourselves in Jesus’ place. But when I read the New Testament basically, we get three mandates: to love God, to love each other, and to take care of the least among us. And I think this is at least a step in the right direction. ~ Robert Riley is an American politician who served as the 52nd Governor of Alabama.

4. By God’s Grace

Lord, we want to learn as much as we can about you, and make sure we are going to heaven. But remember that it is not only knowing facts about you, Lord, but it is having a personal relationship with you that matters. Childlike faith is so crucial that many people come short of heaven by 18 inches, knowing about God in their head, but not having you Lord in their heart. I am wondering if there is any doubt that any one of us are going to heaven or not? If so, pray and talk to someone like a pastor or a reliable Christian friend.

Lord, keep us humble to know that our actions can not save us.

It is by your grace alone that you make us worthy of eternity in heaven. There is nothing we can boast about. I am not getting into heaven for being kind, generous, thoughtful, friendly, etc., I am getting into heaven for accepting your death on the cross for us for payment of my sins. My holiness is not the way to Jesus. But instead, Jesus is the way to holiness. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

I’m not getting to heaven on my integrity. I’m not getting to heaven on my goodness. ~ Rick Warren senior pastor of Saddleback Church.

5. Assurance Of Salvation

It is essential to remind ourselves that our faith is one of our most valuable possessions. Many people make emotional commitments to God to keep them out of harm or trouble, and then later, if they fall from their “faith,” the question comes up whether they were saved in the first place. I know that if you Lord are leading me, I am no longer dominated by our fleshly desires, this world, or Satan. It makes me think if a person can lose their salvation? Or is it that people sometimes never made a genuine commitment to you Lord in the first place? Your Word, tells us about salvation and being born again if there is any doubt about our salvation, we need to ask a pastor, Christian friend, or read the Bible using keywords from the concordance to help navigate you to the answers you are seeking.

Lord, I thank you for saving us from sin and death, and I pray that we can reach out to help point others to you so they too can be saved.

Often I believe that people might think that once they are saved, that life will become wonderful without difficulties, but we know that it is not valid, you tell us that we will face many challenges, but you will be with us through them all once we become saved. God has given us free will to choose to believe or not. I remember being told that if all this “God stuff” is all wrong, then nobody needs to worry, but since God is real, and those who do not believe, they are the ones in very, very big trouble, with the destination of hell according to the Bible. I am so glad that I believe in you, Lord, and that I follow you each day the best I can. Ephesians 2:9: not by works, so that no one can boast.

There are many things that are essential to arriving at true peace of mind, and one of the most important is faith, which cannot be acquired without prayer. ~ John Wooden 12-year head basketball coach at UCLA.

6. What About Heaven?

Lord, there is no doubt in my heart or mind that I am going to heaven or not, but if someone needs it explained to them personally about their future in heaven, we need to point them to you through your Gospel. If we trust in the Lord as our Lord and Savior and want to learn more about you and do your will in our life. You know our hearts Lord, and you know whether or not our confession of faith was genuine or not, if and when you were saved, did you truly understand at the time what you were being rescued from, or was it an emotional type reaction to someone prompting of what to say. Or did something that happened in your life at the time to bail you out of a mess? One thing I know for sure is that this earth is not our home, but rather heaven is where we are meant for eternity.

Lord, we thank you for the eternal life that you have made available to us, I pray that we can tell others about your saving grace so that they too can be in heaven with you Lord, for eternity.

In the meantime, we pray that you can use us while we are still here on earth. Romans 10:9: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Faith is walking by faith, not by what you feel. You are not always going to feel that Jesus loves you or that God is good, but you know He is. It is the up and down of the journey. ~ Nick Vujicic Christian evangelist was born with the tetra-Amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of arms and legs.

7. Forever with God?

Lord, I have put my faith in you, Lord, I know that you love us and you died for us and wants a relationship with us. It is healthy to ask questions, yet doubting and worrying is something different. I have seen what you have done for me in my life, which fans the flames for my faith in you that much more, and I have put all my chips in for you, Lord, and do not hold any back. I realize that some people have a hard time worshiping you Lord in church for an hour once a week. In that case, I can not understand why they would want to be in heaven with you for eternity, worshiping you. I know how wonderful it is to be with someone on earth that we care about and love, just think how much greater will it be to be in heaven with the creator of this word and the one who has died for me.

Lord, there are so many excellent benefits having you as our Lord and Savior. Your word is faithful that we can bank on because you are reliable and worthy of praise.

We trust you, Lord, with our lives here on earth and also eternity with you in heaven. Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you or the devil or anyone else could remove you from Christ’s hand, then that entity would be greater than Christ, and the eternal life He gave you would not be eternal at all. That’s an impossible equation. ~ Tony Evans Senior Pastor and also Chaplain of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

8. Save the World

Lord, I like the story of the little boy who persistently kept throwing starfish back into the ocean to save them. Christians can not save the world, but each person that we point to you Lord is like one more starfish that the little boy found on the beach and put back in the water. We can not save the world, but we can point others to the one who can, who is you, Lord Jesus Christ. Each of us needs to ask ourselves, “What part am I doing to help on you, Lord, to make an impact in the world today?” Another way of looking at it Lord, it like when we are on an airplane, and we are told to first put on the oxygen mask on ourselves, then on to others. We need to get right with you first Lord; then we can help point others to you so they too can get right with you.

Lord, just like the cure for cancer, you have given us the remedy for sin, which is to accept the sacrificial death on the cross of you, Lord.

Please help us to share that cure with others. Even so-called smaller things, such as helping someone you know like a friend, family member, or also assisting a stranger, all can be beautiful ways of doing our part in making this world a better place. So whatever skills or gifts that we have, we need to use them to help others and glorify you, Lord. John 3:17: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

God seeks to influence humanity. This is at the heart of the Christmas story. It is the story of light coming into the darkness, of a Savior to show us the way, of light overcoming the darkness, of God’s work to save the world. ~ Adam Hamilton is the senior pastor of the largest United Methodist congregation in the world.

11. Requirements for Salvation

Lord, I once thought when I was a little boy, that there was a checklist of things that I had to do and not to do for my salvation and to get to heaven. It was not until I discovered that you Lord did it all, and all I need to do is believe in you Lord and follow your teaching from the Bible the best I can knowing that I am not perfect, but you are. Lord, you are the one who saves us, and we follow you and your teaching in faith. It is not ourselves who give us salvation, but rather our faith in you, Lord that has purchased our redemption. We need to believe with our heart and confess with our mouths that you are the Lord our God.

Lord, help us to learn what you require of us and put it in our hearts to do to the best of our ability.

Please teach us your ways Lord and make us understand without any doubt, that you Lord, are what is required for salvation. Do we need to pause a moment to figure out how vital our salvation to us is? If a person is already saved, and they are, without any doubt, sure they have redemption and will be going to heaven? Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

I asked long ago, ‘What must I do to be saved?’ The Scripture answered, ‘Keep the commandments, believe, hope, love.’ I was early warned against laying, as the Papists do, too much stress on outward works, or on faith without works, which as it does not include, so it will never lead to true hope or charity. ~ John Wesley was a leader of a revival movement within the Church.

12. What Is A Good Person?

Lord, to be direct and honest, there is no such thing as a good person, we are all sinners, me and everyone fall into that category. All we can do is to do our best and leave the rest to you, Lord. Our goal ought to be more like you, Lord, yet that only can be our goal. The Lord was sinless, and as long as we are alive, we will be sinners, yet we can be saved by your grace Lord. Being a good person is a charming thought, yet being nice does not get us to heaven since we are ALL sinner. I hope those people I know have been saved by your grace, which is way more important than being a good person by far.

Lord, you want us to be more like You, although we all have a sin nature in us that prevents us from being a so-called “Good Person,” only you Lord are good and worthy of praise.

Help us to try to aim at being the best we can be, and let our motivation be to please you, Lord. Mark 10:18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good, except God alone.

Be true to yourself, help others, make each day your masterpiece, make friendship a fine art, drink deeply from good books – especially the Bible, build a shelter against a rainy day, give thanks for your blessings and pray for guidance every day. ~ John Wooden led the Bruins to a record ten national basketball championships.
