In addition to seeking help from God and relying on God’s word, and with prayer, there are many other ways to find additional encouragement. You can surround yourself with positive people who lift you and support you in your journey. Joining a small group or Bible study can provide a sense of community where you can share your struggles and receive prayer and encouragement from others. Reading books or listening to podcasts by Christian authors or speakers can also provide inspiration and motivation for daily life. Additionally, serving others through volunteering or acts of kindness can bring joy and purpose into your own life while also encouraging those around you. Remember that finding encouragement is not a one-time event, it is an ongoing process that requires intentional effort and trust in God’s plan for our lives.

There are many ways to find encouragement, just as long as the motivation you seek comes from the truth of God’s word. It is not harmful to seek help from a close friend, family member, pastor, or counselor since they can point you to God’s word, which is what we ultimately need. Over the years, I have learned to take my concerns to God in prayer first (I used to go to friends and church people for their help, but I learned God is where to take our concerns first and foremost). Then if we need more help or encouragement, we can take our frustration to others after taking it to God first. When I was a newer believer in Jesus Christ, praying out loud in front of others was a little awkward for me, but I later learned that my favorite way to pray is being all alone and asking God, “What do you want me to do?” I love that question, and then I sit back and think of God’s word and let the Holy Spirit speak to me. Many people, including myself, in the past, overlook the importance of prayer.  Getting involved with fellowship with other believers in Jesus is a basic need to grow in your faith, develop encouragement for yourself, and encourage others you come across.  ~ Bill Greguska
